Councilwoman / Chair of Arts & Culture Committee
The 425-seat venue will have its grand opening on September 23, 2017 with the first of 12 concerts, plays and performances scheduled for its inaugural Fall Season. It’s a diverse, imaginative and exceptionally entertaining line-up, ranging from the remarkable jazz stylings of internationally acclaimed singer Cyrille Aimee on the 23rd, together with an Art Exhibit called Revolution – the Art of Positive Social Change, and the driving rhythms of the ground-breaking percussion ensemble Sō Percussion, to perennial favorites such as “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” as well as original plays and musicals, a concert by renowned guitarist Matt Schofield, and tributes to such American musical icons as Frank Sinatra and the Allman Brothers Band. Entertainment will be offered for all ages, including a full slate of children’s programming.
In addition, a capital fundraising campaign has been initiated by the Friends of the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center, a new 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established to provide financial support to ChappPAC. An inaugural fundraising gala will take place November 4, 2017. I would like to thank Michele Gregson and Tracy Stein who are working tirelessly leading Friends of the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center, which was formed by residents of New Castle interested in supporting the arts in New Castle. Friends of the Arts in New Castle already hosted a fundraiser when local recording artist Frank Shiner performed earlier this year. Shiner’s all-star band donated 100% of ticket sale profits to the Friends of the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center. To get involved with Friends of the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center, please contact email@example.com
We also have received an anonymous donation of $30,000 to be used for children’s programming at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center. I am so pleased that the interest in programming at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center is already so great. We feel honored to have received this $30,000 grant, which gives us an incredible opportunity to enhance our children’s programs at ChappPAC. We already hired a theatre manager – John Fanelli of Lighthouse Youth Theater – to manager the facility.
