Chappaqua Downtown Revitalization – April 19, 2018

Rob Greenstein, Supervisor, New Castle

The largest and most critical sewer manhole was installed at Starbucks.  We also installed the new sewer lines on lower King.   Although the new sewer lines were installed pursuant to the engineering design which was approved by the Westchester County Board of Health, we wanted to verify that the connection to the County trunk line was correct.   Construction was temporarily stopped on lower King while we waited for written confirmation.  We were not idle while we waited for the sewer confirmation.  From April 2 – April 13, we worked on the stormwater system behind Pizza Station. The vortex drainage structure was successfully installed and all parking spots have been restored.  Last week we finally received the written confirmation we needed and we immediately recommenced work on lower King.  Construction on lower King continued this week as we completed the lateral connections.  We plan to pave lower King on Friday, 04/27.  When we pave lower King, we will patch Greeley.  The street sweeper is supposed to come on Friday morning.  Continuation of the new sewer main will then continue on South Greeley from King (Starbucks) to Woodburn (Pizza Station).
