Chappaqua Downtown Revitalization – October 9, 2018

The installation of the brand sidewalk on North Greeley from Bischoff Avenue to Maple Avenue has started.  Drainage work on North Greeley from King to Maple is on hold as we continue to wait for Verizon to move their underground lines. The relocation of the Verizon lines are in conflict with our proposed drainage piping – almost 400’ – and that delays our curb & sidewalk work. Drainage work on South Greeley from lower King to the triangle is also on hold as we wait for existing overhead wires on the pole south of Starbucks to be relocated & the pole removed. The rain & tornado has not helped as Con Ed & Verizon resources were allocated elsewhere. We lose 1 or 2 days with every rain event. Excavation for curbing on Washington to Woodburn Ave on the library side has begun. We plan to install the granite curbing as follows:

Bischoff going south towards the post office
Washington Ave (Library side) and go North to Woodburn Ave
Family Britches up King to Senter Street
Washington Ave (Town Hall side) and go North towards Woodburn Ave

For the past few years, we have asked Beth Hungden from Whispering Pines to add some Halloween decorations around the triangle in Chappaqua & Millwood. This year – to help mitigate the construction – we are working with Beth to add some festive decoration all around downtown Chappaqua.
