Health & Wellness Committee: May 2nd fundraiser event for tick borne disease

We are excited to support the Global Lyme Alliance (GLA) 1st Annual Westchester Breakfast and Shopping Event. The event will incorporate a breakfast, shopping, a silent auction and a panel
discussion with renowned Lyme-literate doctors and patients suffering from the disease. The doctor panel will include: Dr. Richard Horowitz, Dr. Kenneth Bock and Dr. Tania Dempsey for an informative discussion on prevention and recognizing early symptoms of tick borne illness.

GLA funds cutting-edge research and education programs to advance the prevention, prompt diagnosis and effective treatment of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. Through this event, we are hoping to increase awareness of all tick-borne illnesses and to raise funds for continued research. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Brae Burn
Country Club in Purchase, NY, in anticipation of Mother’s Day, graduation and the camp season. May is also Lyme Awareness Month, which makes the timing of the event all the more important.
All proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to GLA. If you have any questions, please contact Derin Edip-Walden at dwalden@mynewcastle.org
