Infrastructure Project Update October 17, 2017

Adam Brodsky
Deputy Town Supervisor

I am pleased to report that 90% of the water main installation is now complete. ELQ has completed the removal and replacement of all but 40 feet of the approximately 1650 linear feet of 12 inch iron water main pipe. This section of water main to be replaced has no connections to any buildings. The temporary water main was in the way of replacing this section of pipe- but now that the temporary system has been removed, we will go back and address this one small section. All other hydrants, valves and fitting have been replaced.

John Kazawic, from Boswell Engineering- reported that there are about 4 -5 nights of work to complete this aspect of the project. He predicts that Heitkampf (phonetically HeightCamp) the temporary water main installation company, will be back at the end of the week – Thursday and Friday to remove the remaining temporary water main pipes. The remaining plates in the road which are part of the Town’s project as well as plates on the street will be removed by the end of next week as well. ELQ will fill and pave those sections where the plates are being removed both in the street and on the sidewalk.

We are now onto the next set of the project, the Sanitary Sewer work which is scheduled to begin the week of October 30-
