For Residents Only – Confidential Paper Shredding Returns to the Recycling Center on 210 Hunts Lane – This Saturday, April 22 from 10 am (to 1 pm).

Although the shredder is scheduled to be there until 1 pm- once the trucks are full- they leave- so be sure to come early! Can’t make the date?

The Shredder will also be here on June 3, September 16 (Community Day!) and November 4.

Also This Saturday, April 22- Rotary Annual Pancake / Breakfast Red Cross Blood / Drive Town’s Clean Up Day

The Chappaqua Rotary Club is holding its annual Pancake Breakfast to be held at St. Mary’s Church on South Greeley Ave., April 22, 8:00 to 1:00. Cleanup volunteers will be provided breakfast by the Club in appreciation. So please come and enjoy great food and break bread – well, pancakes – with your friends and neighbors. Tickets will be on sale at the door, $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Proceeds of the event will be used by the Club to further its purpose as stated in its motto: “Service Above Self”.

The Chappaqua Rotary Club is holding its annual Red Cross Blood Drive to be held at St. Mary’s Church on South Greeley Ave., April 30, 8:00 to 2:00p. Blood donors will be provided breakfast by the Club in appreciation.

Town’s Clean Up Day is April 22nd, 9 – 1 p.m. You can pick up gloves and bags at Town hall and also at the recycling center.

And while you are Spring Cleaning- don’t forget your medicine cabinet. Don’t keep old medicines around. Outdated and unnecessary medications can be discarded at the medicine disposal station at the New Castle Police Station accessible 24/7.

Noise Ordinance

Just a reminder to residents who are anxious to get a jump on their Spring Cleaning projects-

Noise from Construction activities including tree work is permitted: Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 8:00 pm

Saturday, Sunday and holidays during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except that blasting is not permitted on Saturday, Sunday and holidays and is further regulated by Chapter 44, Blasting, of the Town Code.

Noise from domestic tools including lawn equipment and noise from vehicle repair is allowed from 8:00 a.m. to sundown, Monday through Friday, except holidays, and 9:00 a.m. to sundown, Saturday, Sunday and holidays, shall not be restricted by this subsection. At all other times, such noise levels shall not exceed 45 dB(A) on any other property used for residential purposes within any residential zoning district.

Update on Playground and Basketball Court Engineering RFP

Bids were returned last week for the RFP for engineering services for the basketball court and playground behind town hall. We received 8 bids and the Engineering Department is in the midst of analyzing them. We hope to have a recommendation to the Board shortly.
