New Castle Drug Free Communities Programmatic Site Visit
Today members of the New Castle United for Youth including myself, Lea Barth, Leslie Kuhn, Victoria Goodman, and David Johns, our Coalition Coordinator met with Cydne D. Kimbrough, the Public Health Advisor, Drug Free Communities Support Program, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for a programmatic site visit. This is the group that granted us a $125,000 annual grant for the next 5 years. They wanted to make sure we were properly using their funds. I am happy to report we passed with flying colors!
Other members of the United for Youth Coalition joined us for lunch. They included Comptroller Rob Deary, Rev. Dr. Martha Jacobs, Det. Dan Corrado, Vince Canziani, Children’s Aid Society, Carolyn D’Agostino who brought some students from Bell along with Kusum Sinha, Assistant Superintendent for HR and Leadership Development with the CCSD. She ended her day long visit with a tour of our community.
Thank you to all who made the time to make this visit a success and a special shout out to Lea, Leslie and Victoria who have worked tirelessly to get our program up and running.
