2018-2019 School Tax Bills have been Mailed! First half now Due!

The 2018-2019 School tax bills have been mailed. If you have not received your tax bill, and you, as opposed to your bank, are responsible to pay your taxes, please call the tax office at 238-4773.

October 1, is the last day to pay the first half school bill without penalty.

The Tax Office will be open on October 1, 2018 from 7:00am to 7:00pm. If you are paying your tax bill in cash, payments must be exact amount and will only be accepted during regular business hours of 8:45am to 4:30pm. Payments can also be made using our online payment system. The Tax Office accepts United States Post Office postmark as proof of timely mailing. If you are mailing your payment close to the due date, please make certain you see the Post Office affix an official postmark to your payment. If you have any questions please contact the Tax Office 238-4773.

Changes to the STAR Exemption Program for Property Owners Over 65

New Castle United for Youth has Secured Funding for Year 3

Congratulations to New Castle United for Youth! They have successfully secured funding for year three of a possible five year grant from the Federal Department of Health and Human Services , Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This grant is in the amount of $125,000 for year three to continue their substance abuse prevention efforts. The Coalition has already been granted $250,000 in funding for years one and two.

The 2019 Budget Season is underway

Town Comptroller Rob Deary and I have met with Department Heads over the summer to create the tentative budget. The Board can expect to receive the Tentative budget by the end of September. The Board will then have meetings with staff the week of October 1, 2018.
