The Governor has charged local municipalities with a police agency to perform a comprehensive review of current police force deployments, strategies, policies, procedures, and practices, and to create a plan to adopt and implement the recommendations resulting from its review by April 1, 2021.
The Town of New Castle’s Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative Committee (PRRCC) was created by Town resolution on October 20, 2020. The committee hosted a virtual introductory meeting/public forum on November 5th. The next scheduled virtual public forums will be hosted on December 17th and January 7th, 6 p.m.- 8 P.M. This public forum is a listening session to allow the public to comment upon what Police Reform means to them in our community. Residents will be given the opportunity to speak for 3 minutes at the forum.
