[ARCHIVED] Taconic Opera Performance for Seniors: Massenet’s Manon

Taconic Opera October 2022

Taconic Opera is preparing an exciting 2022-2023 25th Anniversary Season which starts with  Massenet’s fabulous Manon.  Once again, in addition to its regular weekend performances, a special weekday, daytime performance will be earmarked for area STUDENTS AND SENIORS who may not be able to attend our weekend performances.  All participating groups will be provided with educational materials prior to the performance to enhance the enjoyment of the opera.

  • DATE: Thursday, October 20, 2022
  • TIME: 10 AM – 1 PM
  • LOCATION: Yorktown Stage, 1974 Commerce St, Yorktown Heights, NY

PROGRAM:  Massenet’s Manon

SUMMARY: You won’t want to miss this gorgeous opera. Not only will the music and singers and orchestra be wonderful, but the company received specific funding for sets so it’s going to be eye-appealing as well!  Last year they performed Puccini’s Manon Lescaut in Italian.  This year they are doing Massenet’s Manon in French which has its own distinct sound and a bit of a twist on the story line, plus it’s set in Paris and Monte Carlo! It will be a completely different experience.  As usual, supertitles in English will be provided to enhance your enjoyment.

FEES: $20 per person; seniors get Orchestra seating (regular weekend seats are $66)

RSVP:  Seats are set aside as  requests are received and until the theater reaches capacity. Let us know you are coming.  Call or text (914) 803-2577 or e-mail and provide the following:

(1) total number of seniors interested in attending

(4) name, email and cell phone number of a contact person from your agency so that we can send you materials and contact you in an emergency.

Taconic Opera is pleased to know that so many people have been able to attend a live opera because of these weekday performances. We look forward to educating and entertaining your seniors in October.
