To all of our campers and their families,
On behalf of the Recreation & Parks Department, we hope you and your families are doing well in these trying times. Since summer is just around the corner, we wanted to give you an update on where we stand with our Summer Day Camp Program.
Following the phase re-opening structure provided by Governor Cuomo, we will now be opening our Town Camps starting July 13th through August 14th. The 6-week program will now be a 5-week program, and Session one will now be a two week program running from July 13th to July 24th. Session two will remain a 3 week program but will run from July 27th through August 14th. Pro-rated refunds will be automatically returned to your original form of payment. Please note that this date may change if there is any additional restrictions announced from now until the start of camp.
Additionally, we will no longer be utilizing the school district buildings to house our summer camps in 2020. Tots camp will now be held at the First Congressional Church, and Camp Adventure and On the Go will be held at Amsterdam Park. As we previously mentioned, we will not be travelling for trips or swimming this year, and have also decided to cancel any “add-on” programs such as lacrosse, soccer, and theatre, to limit the number of individuals coming in and out of the camps. We will also be eliminating the after-camp program for this season. If you are already signed up for a particular session, you will automatically be moved to the new dates. If any changes need to be made to your registration, you can email Brittany at email@example.com.
Many have reached out about our refund policy. We are again working to modify that and will send out information as soon as it is available.
Lastly, we are working on policies and procedures to make sure camp is as safe as possible for campers and staff. We will edit these as necessary to comply with any new regulations that may be provided from the CDC and Department of Health and release them they are finalized.
We are hoping to receive guidance from the Health Department and CDC is the coming weeks. We will do our best to keep you updated as we get more information. The health and safety of our campers is always our first priority.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy day.
