Happy Holi to All Our Hindu Neighbors!
Holi is a festival known by different names – “Festival of Love,” “Festival of Colors” and “Festival of Spring.” All are joyous.
The holiday celebrates the eternal and divine love of Radha and Krishna, and the triumph of good over evil. It also harkens a good spring harvest season, the blossoming of love and the repair of broken relationships.
People mark the celebration in differently in different regions. Overall, it’s a day of friends, family, music, vibrant colors, and delicious food. (For a delicious Holi recipe, visit the CRE Facebook page.)
Johanna Nayyar, a CRE member, describes Holi this way:
“A kaleidoscope of joyous bright colors
A hue of light, a prism of hope.
Gentle spring breezes awake with promises of new beginnings.
Good food, laughter, family and friends.
From our home to yours – open the doors and let the sunlight in – Happy Holi.”
