Solarize Somers-New Castle

Chappaqua, New York –  The much anticipated launch event for Solarize Somers-New Castle is taking place on Monday, October 26 at 7pm at the New Castle Town Hall.

Come hear from our selected solar installer, Direct Energy Solar, about the time-limited opportunity to get group purchasing discounts on solar installations. We hope you’ll be able to join us at our launch (hors d’oeuvres provided by Le Jardin), but if you can’t make it there, we’ll be offering a series of workshops through February. Last day to sign contract is March 7, 2016.

This program, supported by New York State and sponsored by the New Castle Sustainability Advisory Board, makes solar easy and affordable for homeowners and small businesses by offering:

  • Discount pricing, with a tiered structure so the more people sign up, the more the price keeps dropping for everyone.
  • Pre-selected, competitively chosen solar contractor to do the installations in our community at this discounted Solarize price.
  • High quality solar equipment.
  • Immediate reduction in monthly energy costs with no money out-of-pocket for those who qualify.

This is a great way to lower your utility bills and avoid rising energy costs.  There has never been a better time to think about solar,

New Castle Supervisor Rob Greenstein stated “We are thrilled to be partnering with Somers on this initiative.  We are also excited to be working with Direct Energy Solar as the designated solar contractor for residential installations.  I look forward to seeing more solar panels installed throughout New Castle.   Together we can reduce our reliance on fossil fuels while creating a greener world for future generations – all while saving New Castle residents money!  Thank you to our incredible Sustainable Advisory Board for pursing this program.”

New Castle Sustainability Advisory Board Chair Steve Wolk stated “once again New Castle has engaged in making the earth a better place for future generations while saving people money every day on their electric bills.”

New Castle Sustainability Advisory Board member Alicia Molloy stated “While it’s always great to get a solar installation, this is a unique time for New Castle. For the next 3 ½ months, residents and businesses can sign up at highly discounted prices with a great installer whose business and equipment have been reviewed by everyone from NYSERDA to the New Castle Sustainability Advisory Board.”
